Search Engine Marketing
One of the best ways to get noticed on the internet is through search engines; everyone uses them. So, in this section I will go over how you can get your website submitted to different search engines and also some basics on how to get a better ranking in the results when someone searches for a specific keyword or keyword phrase. You don't want to be on page 20 of the search results if you want a lot of people coming to your page. I can give you some ideas on how to hopefully get your page listed on the first couple pages; most people won't look much farther than the second page.Directory Submission
In this
section I'll show you how to get your site submitted to different free
directories I use. Directory submissions will also help your
ranking in searches, the directories that you submit to may have been
around a lot longer than your site has and they've worked on raising
their ranking the whole time. So if you have a link on their page
to your site, then it's going to be noticed a lot quicker in the search
engines than your own page might.
Link Strategy
Yet
another way to help your search engine ranking is through having a good
link strategy. The more links you have to your website from
outside sources, the more important your page
seems
to search engines. In this section I will show you different places
I put links to my different sites in hopes of getting more visitors.
Submit to Free Classifieds
A
great way to get your site noticed is to post to classifieds sites.
In this section I'll show you a few different classifieds web
pages I post to. You can usually post in specific categories that
fit your site and then people who are looking for what you have can
find it easily. These posts will also usually show up in search
engine results. To take it a step further, you can browse the want ads
and reply to any posts from people who are looking for what you offer.
Banner Ads
One of the best ways to advertise your site is to make your own banner
ads. You see them all over the internet, whether you click them
or not, and they definitely draw more attention to them than a text
link, especially if they're animated. In this section I'll give
you some basics on how to make your own and where I like to post them.
Myspace Marketing
In
this last section I will go over ways that you can promote your
websites using the popular social networking site called Myspace.
I choose to not be a hassle and spam thousands of people through
mail and invites and I hope you would choose the same as I have.
But I'll let you in on a few ways I promote my pages without the
harassment.
I recommend getting your own domain name over using a free
hosting service. That way your page won't be loaded with ads you
don't want on there, you won't have that many limits on file space or
bandwidth, and there won't be any pop ups when people view your page.
Also, once your web page is finished, you can go to the preCharge Forums at the bottom and have people review your website and give you suggestions on how to improve it.
