that
but you can print out a free board ad, the ones with tear off sections
at the bottom that you hang up on bulletin boards. Plus, if you
post a local ad, it doesn't cost extra to add pictures to your ad.
IbidFREE.com is actually an auction
site
with no fees to sell your items, but they do have a section for
classifieds too. You have to use every little chance you can get
to promote your sites and/or products and services. You'll have
to register, for free, and then once you've done that you can click the
title above and get to posting your ads. Or you can access the
classifieds through your account page that you see once you log in.
If you're
advertising your site or company in general I'd use the announcement
section. If it's more individual items then scroll down to the
items for sale section. And then before you leave this site, go
to the forums; a handy bonus. Down a little in
the forums, there's a section called "The Plug." It's just that,
a place for you to plug your site or service; free advertising.
I'm sure
you've all heard of Myspace, but you may not have known that they had
classifieds. So if you have an account already, just log in and
click the "Classifieds" link up on the top on the far right.
These are divided up by major cities, you can change between city
to city up top. If you wanted to promote your site or business,
I'd suggest posting under services in the small business ad section.
Otherwise just post your individual items and services wherever
they fit best. It looks like you can add images to your post too. It'd
also be a good idea to look through the want ads to see if you
can respond to any of them. I'll be going into more detail on Myspace Marketing later on the Website Promotion main page.
Purerave is more or less a Canadian Myspace;
pretty much the same idea but with more ravers. But this could
still be an advertising opportunity for you. They have a
classifieds section you can use once you log in or sign up for free.
You can either post individual items on here or browse the want
ads to promote what you have. There's no place to advertise for
your site really.
Here's a couple other places you can advertise your individual items and services or browse the want ads:
I hope you can get a lot of extra traffic and
sales by using classifieds to advertise. There's an added bonus
to using classifieds, other than more targeted traffic; all of your
classified ads will show up in search engine results. So if
someone's searching through Google or some other search engine for
something you have in a classified, then they're going to see your ad.
I think it would be a good idea, if you plan on submitting to all
of these in one day, to type out all the basic info in a word processor
and just copy and paste it into the forms as you create each ad.
It'll help make things go a lot faster for you.
Now preCharge
Forums aren't exactly classifieds but you can use them like they are.
There's a section where you can post things that you are selling
if you want to list specifics. There is also a section near the
bottom of the forums where you can post your whole site to have it
reviewed by other forum members. But in reality, this is just a
way for you to advertise a little. You may still get some good
insight on how to improve your page though.
Free
Advertising Forum is a great place to do exactly as their name says;
advertise for free. Now this site says forum in the title too
but, unlike preCharge, they have a classifieds section. Once
you've signed up, for free, and logged in, you just have to scroll down
and you'll see the section to post your classified ads. They
break it down into three sections: Business Opportunities,
Products & Services & Income Opportunities. As you can
see it's quick and easy to post classified ads and thousands if not
tens to hundreds of thousands of people could see your ads. This
site has the added benefit, like preCharge Forums, people can post
replies to your ads. If you get people talking about your sites,
more people will want to look for themselves.
OBO Ads is an
actual classifieds site where you can sign up and post ads for free.
It seems though to post your URL to your site you have to be
upgraded. Which, if you upgrade for $6.99, you are able to post
15 ads instead of just 5, you can post photos and your URLs with your
ads, the priority of your ads is raised, and you can have a PayPal
"Buy Now" button on your ads. If you upgrade to the highest level
for $14.99 you can post unlimited ads, the priority of your ads is
raised even more and you have rich ad support. This site has a
few different ways you could promote your sites, products and services.
You could post a fixed priced ad, a "best offer" ad or an
announcement. They also have want ads that you can search
through, to see if there's anyone looking for what you offer, and then
reply to. If you want you can look at the Ads I have posted.
Craigslist
is a very popular free classifieds site. What you'll want to do
is pick out the city closest to you, or whatever city you want really.
Then, if you want to promote individual products or browse their
want ads to respond to, you'll want to look in the "for sale" section
which is the second one down in the middle. I've tried to promote
my overall store before in that section, but the users flag it quick.
So I tried to post in the "services" section, a little further
down on the page, but it seems you're not allowed to post URLs in your
ads. I find that a little odd but oh well. So this site
seems best if you want to respond to "want ads" or want to promote
individual products.
Lycos
has a free classifieds site too, among all their other ventures.
The link above will take you directly into the ad submission
process. You just need to pick out what category you want to post
to and the fill out your description. I've posted ads to my site
in general on here before, they seem to be fine with it. The only
difference here is that these ads are posted locally, so most likely
only people near you will see your ad.
Domestic
Sale Classifieds is a pretty straight forward site. Just click
the category you want to sell or promote in and then you'll need to log
in. You can register for free. You can choose from the
international ads, which are the default, or they have a few different
states if you want to list more locally. You can take a look at
the Ads I have listed myself
if you want. Ads are free to post unless you want to upgrade for
a few extra features. For $2.99 you can have a photo ad with a
thumb nailed photo for your listing and a "buy now" button; these are
one-time charges. Or for $5.99 you can post up to 7 different
pictures with your ad. Or for $39.99, you can post unlimited ads
for a year. You don't have to pay a thing if you don't want to; I
didn't. But the best part about this is that these ads last a
WHOLE YEAR! Not only
Online classifieds are no different than normal classifieds in your
newspaper, other than the amount of classifieds and the number of eyes
that could look at your ad. I'm going to show you a few of the
free online classifieds sites I use to help get the word out on my web
pages.
There's three ways you can use classifieds to
promote your site. You can respond to want ads for specific
products and/or services people want and direct them to your site.
You can also just post a basic classified in certain sections
just as advertising for your overall site. And then you can
promote individual products or services that are on your site in more
specific categories.
