With
Ezilon Search you'll have to browse through the categories again to
find one that works well for your site. Then you'll want to click
the "Site Submit" link up at the top right. You'll have to fill
in all the normal info plus some login information for times that you
want to come back and revise things. They even give you a spot to
suggest a new category if you think there needs to be one to better fit
your site.
With Search Blitz you need to pick out a
category and fill in all the normal information plus a password for
future visits if you want to check the status or modify your listings.
The login information isn't required, but you may find that it's
handy to be able to go back and check up on things.
It looks like the people who own and run Site
Seek also own Search Blitz. So the submission process will be
exactly the same for this directory.
When
submitting to the So Much directory you just need the same basic info
with a description. They need your email address too because
they'll email you a link to verify that your email address is correct.
You need to verify it within 5 days or your submission will be
deleted.
I hope all these links to directories help you get
your site noticed and I hope it was a simple process. If you
don't notice your links in the directory right away, don't get
discouraged, most of them will tell you how long it takes them to get
to sites normally. Sometimes it takes a few months before they
can get to your site, if you're submitting a free ad. They have
paid ads too which will get your site reviewed faster and there may be
other benefits like a featured listing or no required reciprocal link.
Open Directory
Project is a very popular directory, but it's sometimes hard to get
your sites accepted. All sites are reviewed before they can be
accepted and they're pretty strict; they want only the best.
You'll want to browse through the categories and find one that
fits your site perfectly, then click the "suggest URL" link up top.
Then you'll have to give details on your site.
Search Sight
is another good directory, they actually have you take a screen shot of
your site's homepage so that, when people see your ad in the directory,
they see a thumbnail of what your site looks like before they click.
This one you just need to pick out the correct category for your
site and then enter your URL and email address.
Directory SEO
Supreme is pretty accurate on its listings. You have to pick
out your category, fill in the title of your page, fill in your link,
type up a short and long description, enter some keywords and then you
fill in info so that you can login next time you're at the page.
Also, it looks like soon they'll have thumbnails like Search
Sight does. There's a place to put a reciprocal link too, not
sure if it's required or not, but that's just a page you have that has
a link that goes to their directory. They post your link and you
link back to their directory.
Busy
Bits is another up and coming directory, with over 1 million hits to
their page in a little over a year's time. You have to browse
through and find the right category for your site in this one too and
then click the "Add URL" link up top. Then you have to fill in
your URL, title, description, keywords and email in order to submit to
this directory.
To
use Cipinet's directory you'll want to browse and find the category
that best fits your site and then click the "Submit a Site" link up on
the top right. They'll want you to log in to finish up the rest
of the submission process. You can register for free so don't worry.
Fresh
TV gives you some guidelines before you submit your site to ensure that
it'll be accepted. They also state that if you have a reciprocal
link back to them that your site will be added without any extra
waiting time. Once you've read the rules for submission and are
sure your site passes, then just enter your website address and click
continue.
MixCat
Interactive's submission process is pretty simple; just enter your URL,
name and email and you're set. They even offer live support if
you need it.
An online directory is similar to what you'd find in a directory in
your phone book, except instead of a phone number you get a link to the
site. They're categorized by types of web pages so that people
can easily find sites they're looking for. Not only that, but
when someone searches on a search engine, now your ads in the directory
will show up in the search engine results.
So you get even more traffic through search engines
when you submit your sites to online directories and, for people that
bookmark directories for handy sites, it makes it easier for them to
find your site too. I'll show you a bunch of free directories I
submit my websites to.
